This week Ella used her new-found sewing skills to learn how to embroider. I bought this very simple embroidery kit at Sewn Studio in Oakley. She finished it quite quickly with no help from her mama and she was so pleased with herself. She even added her name to the bottom of it in stitches (I took the pictures before she added this). She told me she wants to check out some Christmas embroidery designs once her next project is finished.
I’ve always loved embroidery, and want to try my hand at it as well. Penguin & Fish made this kit, and they have lots of patterns on Etsy, perhaps I need to invest in some more. I know I have a huge collection of floss in the basement somewhere from the days of friendship bracelets, maybe it’s time to put all of those strands to good use! Check out Penguin & Fish on Etsy to see all of their adorable patterns and kids…they would make a perfect gift, to make as a gift for someone or to give to someone who likes to do hand crafts. Ella’s already making a list of the next patterns she wants to get!
Here’s her adorable little hedgehog, it took her just one weekend to complete:
