Last night we took advantage of the beautiful weather and picnicked on the veranda of the Behringer Crawford Museum listening to the tunes of one of our favorite local bands, Jake Speed and the Freddies.  We did our fair share of laughing, toe-tappin’ and singing along.  Even Sam begrudgingly sang along to our favorite “Ohio River Blues”.  We arrived early so we could enjoy a picnic before the music started.  I brought a few things from home and then purchased food at BCM to complete the meal.  The kids passed the time waiting for the music to start by reading and playing Sleeping Queens.  It was such a nice peaceful evening all around.

The Behringer Crawford Museum offers music every Thursday this summer from 7-9pm (doors open at 6pm).  They offer a cash bar (last night Madtree was on tap!), coffee from Reality Tuesday, and dinner available to purchase from the Colonial Cottage (to help local organizations raise money).  Last night the Colonial Cottage was serving pulled pork sandwiches (YUM!) and chicken and dumplings.  The cost is $5 per adult and $3 for children.  Members receive a free drink ticket.  It’s a lovely way to enjoy live local music in a lovely outdoor setting.
