Maximus Heinrich Samwell ScheperSay Hello to our newest mouth to feed, “Maximus Heinrich Samwell”, a tiny Bearded Dragon. In the summer of 2011 we told our children that instead of buying them birthday presents we were going to get them a pet Bearded Dragon. Fast forward three and a half years and we finally made good on our promise. While they patiently waited for us to stop dragging our feet the kids did copious amounts of research and planning. They asked dozens and dozens of questions, like can bearded dragons eat spinach? How long do bearded dragons live for? What size container do bearded dragons need to live in? They made lists of supplies needed, helped Michael organize all the supplies and get set up for the Dragon, and went with him to pick out the perfect pet. I never thought I’d say this about a lizard, but this thing is pretty darn cute. We’ve been watching the action in the terrarium tonight like it’s a television. Tomorrow we’ll sit down and set up a job list for taking care of Maximus. We want the kids to be responsible for the care-taking of our newest member of the family. I can’t wait to watch this little guy grow up.
