I love to see beautiful old dilapidated buildings transformed and finding new beginnings.  St. Paul’s Church in Over the Rhine is a perfect example, it has been born again as a brewery, restaurant and bar….Taft’s Ale House and Nellie’s Tap Room.  We have yet to dine at Taft’s Ale House, but we did stop by Nellie’s Tap Room, which is a bar under the restaurant that serves local brews and a collection of their own brews as well.  Taft’s Ale House is on my list of places I want to dine at in Cincinnati.  I guess it’s time to plan a date night!

I snapped this picture of St. Paul’s in the summer of 2008, and in September of that year a freak wind storm which was the result of Hurricane Ike brought the church’s steeple to the ground.  I only wish that I could have explored the inside of this building before the restoration, or to have known what it looked like inside when it was an active parish.
