IFTHENI had not heard much about IF/THEN before attending the show last night.  My busy schedule of late did not allow me the time to research the show as I usually do before I go.  I’m starting to realize though that this might be the way to do it when going to a show….with no pre-conceptions or expectations.  Letting myself be surprised by the show has really made the theatre going experience be more fun lately!

I loved the concept of this show, because I’m an IF/THEN kind of person.  I slowly and deliberately consider all big (and small) life decisions wondering what will happen either way I chose to do something.  Haven’t you done this?  Haven’t you wondered what would have happened if you had chosen differently somewhere along the way in life?  That’s what this show is all about!   It’s a really interesting story-line and the songs are fun and catchy.  Be forewarned though, there’s strong language in this show.  Which is A-OK with me because I perhaps use a bit too much foul language.  The language works in this show, because it’s a real life sort of show.  IF/THEN is only in town for one week, so get your ticket soon!

More Details About IF/THEN:

If/Then IF/THEN will perform a limited one week Cincinnati engagement February 2 – 7, 2016 at the Aronoff Center as a part of the 2015/2016 Broadway in Cincinnati season presented by TriHealth.

IF/THEN is an original Broadway musical written by Tom Kitt (music) and Brian Yorkey (book and lyrics), and directed by Michael Greif, the creative team behind the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical, Next to Normal.

IF/THEN is a contemporary new musical that follows two distinct storylines in the life of Elizabeth, a city planner who moves back to New York to restart her life in that city of infinite possibilities. When her carefully designed plans collide with the whims of fate, Elizabeth’s life splits in to two parallel paths. IF/THEN follows both stories simultaneously as this modern woman faces the intersection of choice and chance.

IF/THEN will play the Aronoff Center from February 2 – 7, 2016: Tuesday – Thursday at 7:30PM, Friday at 8:00PM, Saturday at 2:00PM and 8:00PM and Sunday at 1:00PM and 6:30PM.
