Frida 602 in the Main Strasse Village is a perfect addition to a neighborhood full of interesting restaurants offering up a variety of menu options. Frida 602 brings to us a restaurant (and bar) that serves up “Latin street cuisine”. The uber-creative couple Paul Weckman and Emily Wolff, who also own Otto’s, recently renovated a great old building in the Main Strasse Village to house Frida 602. I say renovate, but watching the process as an outsider it was almost as if they built it from the ground up considering all the work they had to do to bring the building back to life. They have put together an eclectic and delectable menu full of great eats (and drinks), with both the inside and outside of the restaurant paying homage to Frida Kahlo with vibrant artwork everywhere you look. Eating at Frida 602 is a feast for ALL of your senses.
Frida 602 ~
Mmmm..empanada + taco
Sangria!
The queso is my favorite thing on the menu….it’s scrumptious!
The sprouts are a perfect side for the tacos.
Gorgeous Frida mosaic made by the owner.
I love the random salt and pepper shakers you find on the tables both at Otto’s and at Frida’s. These little foxes have the Frida unibrow!
And now I sort of want to paint our basement staircase…
My friend’s favorite item on the menu is the Green Chili Pozole.
Waiting for a table? Play some foosball outside!
The entire building is a masterpiece…
Yes, I took a picture of the bathroom…isn’t it fabulous?!
