queen-city-radio-signWhat was once a filling station in the olden days is now a hip new bar in Over the Rhine.  My sister and I met after work one day to catch up at Queen City Radio and I immediately fell in love with the place.  Queen City Radio just opened it’s <garage> doors this month, and you can already tell that it is going to be a popular hang out.  From the outside the building doesn’t look to big but there’s actually a lot of space for people both inside and out.  You can cozy up to the bar or there are tables upstairs in the mezzanine, downstairs by the bar, and outside on the patio.  There’s even a space set up to feel like your hanging out in a living room.  The staff does an amazing job of staying on top of things and making sure every one has a full glass.  Queen City Radio offers draft and bottle beer, with many local craft beer choices.  And along with the beer, wine and mixed drink selections they also have boozy slushies,  which sound so enticing.  I must return soon to try one of these concoctions!

Even though Queen City Radio does not have a kitchen you can still  grab a bite to eat while you are there.  There’s a food truck on site, the Queen City Whip, that offers up burgers, fries, milkshakes and more.  The guy next to me had a burger and fries and once I caught a whiff and saw how delicious it looked I just had to order one for myself.  It was fantastic!

I was sort of sad when we had to leave Queen City Radio and return to the world of deadlines and chores.  I cannot wait to go back and try one of those slushies!
