This weekend I attended the most unique Bridal Shower at Cooks’ Wares in Montgomery.  Cooks’ Wares is a fabulous family owned kitchen wares store that sells anything and everything you could ever need in your kitchen.  They offer cooking classes of all sorts with experts in this field as well as helpful kitchen classes that teach skills like how to use knives.  Looking at their class list it sounds like there’s a little something for everyone.  The other thing that Cooks’ Wares offers is cooking demonstrations, which is what we were treated to at my sister’s bridal shower this weekend.

Lisa Cooper-Holmes from Haute Chocolate in Montgomery walked us through the preparation of a delicious meal from appetizers to dessert.  Throughout the cooking demonstration she shared personal stories and many awesome kitchen tips.  So not only did I get to go home with some new recipes, but I also learned a thing or two about how to improve my own cooking.   This was the first time I had attended a cooking demonstration or class, and Lisa did not disappoint, she made me want to go to more!

After the shower I wandered the store and daydreamed about all of the things I would love to buy.  I found myself wishing I had known about this store when I got married years ago.  I came home with a few new items for my kitchen, and a few ideas of things I want to start saving for!

Tessy’s Bridal Shower: Cooking Demonstration & Luncheon

The Menu:

Smoked Salmon Pate with Crostini:

Chicken Curry with Basmati Rice:  This is a dish I have never tried to make at home, but Lisa made it seem doable, and also shared the recipe, so I am sure I will be making this soon for the family.  I loved the idea of putting a little Greek Yogurt on top for dipping to cut the spiciness (I’m a wimp).

Delectable Desserts:

Le Creuset as far as the eye can see!
