The week before Christmas we visited our state capitol for the sad occasion of the visitation of my Godfather’s Mother. We decided to take the children with us. After visiting with family at the funeral home, we took a drive through the city of Frankfort, looked at the lights and cruised past our State Capitol and Governor’s Mansion.
Frankfort is a lovely town, and I was disappointed we weren’t there earlier in the day to actually go into the capitol, so this might have to be another road trip for the summer. I spent quite a bit of time in Frankfort growing up, visiting my dad when he worked at the Capitol. I can’t wait to take the kids back to explore more of this beautiful city!

The kids were absolutely amazed by the Christmas Tree Clock
And….the great wall of bamboo. There was a house hidden behind it!
No road trip is complete without some crocheting in the car!
I can’t wait to take the family back to Frankfort to do some more exploring! Have you been to Frankfort? Do you have any recommendations for things we should do when we go back? Please share!
