Lexington Mini-Vacation :: In January of 2015 we took the kids to Lexington, KY for a long weekend. We spent two nights and three days exploring Lexington. We crammed as much fun as we could into those three days with activities for both the kids and the parents. Lexington is a perfect place for my family to escape to for a long weekend or even just a day trip because it’s just over an hour away from where we live. We had such fun on our trip, and the kids are already asking when we’ll be going again. I’m going to share our adventures with you in a series of installments so you can see pictures from our excursions and maybe find some inspiration for planning your own getaway to Lexington!
sQecial Media ::
When I was growing up we frequently went to Lexington on the weekends to visit family and friends. Many of our trips ended with a stop at sQecial Media on our way out of town. We would wander the aisles of this unique little gift shop for what seemed like hours. The store is comprised of several rooms and a few nooks and crannies and it’s jam packed with the most wonderful and unusual items. There are candles, incense, books galore, note cards, jewelry, children’s toys (that adults will love too), interesting coffee mugs, trinkets, wood boxes, and much much more. It’s a fantastic place to stop and pick up unique gifts for any occasion. Or to just buy something for yourself (which is what we did). When I took the kids to sQecial Media during our trip to Lexington they did just what my siblings and I did when we were their ages…they wandered around and explored everything…taking it all in. And of course we walked away with a few fun trinkets.
sQecial Media is located at 371 South Limestone Street in Lexington, be sure to stop by next time you are in Lexington!
