Broadway in Cincinnati presents Motown the Musical
by The Little Things Mama on Sep 8, 2015 • 11:50 pm No CommentsMotown the Musical has arrived in Cincinnati and we were lucky enough to catch the opening night performance tonight and it was SPECTACULAR. I’d go so far as to say it’s one of my favorite Broadway in Cincinnati shows that I’ve seen. It was a music history lesson and dance party all rolled into one. I found Berry Gordy’s story fascinating, and I was bowled over by the performances. The talent in this show was phenomenal! We were especially impressed by Ashley Tamar Davis, who almost made us believe she was a young Diana Ross and Leon Outlaw Junior who belted out tunes as a young King of Pop that made the crowd whoop and cheer and dance in our seats. I’m just calling out two performers here, but honestly everyone in the show brought passion to the stage and really made the audience feel like we were witnessing actual performances of Motown singers. Get your tickets to this show fast…you don’t want to miss it. And just try to sit still while you watch it….I dare you. It’s impossible. You will dance, you will clap, you will probably sing along as well. It’s not just a Broadway musical, it’s a walk down music history lane!
