kinky_boots_450X225My laptop died over the holidays, and I used the opportunity to spend some time offline and work on other projects that needed my attention.  I missed a few emails along the way, and didn’t spend an inordinate amount of time doing anything online.  So when it came time to go see Kinky Boots at the Aronoff Center for the Arts this week I wasn’t even sure what the show was about.  I had completely forgotten that we saw the movie Kinky Boots years ago and that I loved it.  Sometimes I’m just so forgetful!

Kinky BootsI immediately remembered the movie as the show got started, and the story was only enhanced by the fabulous songs put written by Cyndi Lauper for the musical version of Kinky Boots.   This is a heartwarming tale with so many great lessons and morals, my favorite being “accept someone for who they are”.  This is how I am trying to raise my children….to accept everyone despite any differences.  Kinky Boots isn’t just a great story, Broadway brings the story to life with awesome performances by the entire cast, the fabulous songs I mentioned before, and of course some over the top costumes, especially all those rockin’ kinky boots!  The show is just in town for a couple of weeks, so don’t miss out, get your tickets soon!
