The Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area boasts some of the most charming and interesting river cities. Bellevue, Kentucky is home to many gems worth exploring like restaurants, bars, a brewery, and so many interesting shops. Bellevue is also home to The Elusive Cow, an incredible eatery that serves up delicious food in a laid-back environment that feels like home.
Not only is the food at the Elusive Cow delicious, but it is evident that the owners and employees love what they do and strive to serve up the very best. They converse with their guests as if they were long-time friends and seem to know everyone who walks through the door. I love when a restaurant feels like home with cooking that tastes like good home cooking. I love their relaxed atmosphere and consistently tasty food paired with local brews of course.
The Elusive Cow
The Elusive Cow website does the best job of describing this restaurant in a nutshell: “The Elusive Cow embodies the celebratory and gathering spirit of food. Locally sourced, high-quality, organic, natural ingredients are ideal for any culinary endeavor and this nomadic cow is bringing a simple, honest culinary perspective to a genre of food that has largely lost its way.”
Their menu offers a little bit of everything, so no matter what you are in the mood for you will find something to enjoy. They have a variety of vegetarian options as well. I love the burger and the fried chicken while Michael tends to order the tacos.

Don’t skip the veggie of the day, we recently had the Cauliflower and it was soooo good!
After dinner walk through town and visit a bar or brewery or grab dessert at Schneider’s Sweet Shop. There’s also so many great little shops in downtown Bellevue that are worth checking out!
