After much trial and error, I think I have come up with the most perfect easy Blueberry Cobbler recipe. I say that it is perfect because it’s just the way that my family likes cobbler – NOT mushy. After a few attempts with mediocre mushy cobblers and studying our grandmother’s cobbler recipes I put together my own spin on an easy Blueberry Cobbler.
And when I say that it is an easy blueberry cobbler recipe I am not kidding! It takes just minutes to put together and would be a good recipe for a young baker to try on their own because it is so easy.
This easy blueberry cobbler takes a while to bake – but the house smells so good in the process. We cooked it for forty-five minutes because we wanted the edges nice and crisp, but you can always check on it sooner to make it to your liking. You could use your own favorite berries to replace or add to the blueberries. We just love blueberry cobbler around here.
Serve this hot with a scoop of ice cream – it tastes like Summer!
Easy Blueberry Cobbler Recipe
Ingredients:
4 Tablespoons Butter
2 cups Blueberries
3/4 cup Sugar – divided into 1/2 & 1/4 cup
1/2 cup Flour
1/2 cup Milk
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Vanilla
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°. While the oven is preheating put 4 tablespoons of butter (in pats) in a 9×9 square pan and place the pan in the oven for the butter to melt.
- Rinse the blueberries and toss with 1/4 cup sugar.
- Take the pan with the melted butter out of the oven and put the blueberry & sugar mix on top of the butter.
- Mix together the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, milk, baking powder and vanilla and then pour over the blueberries.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes until the crust is the desired golden color and crispness. We like it super crisp so I cook it for forty five minutes.
- Cool for just a few minutes and then serve warm with ice cream. My youngest will attest that this cobbler re-heats well for breakfast the next day!
