Last month Jodi Norgaard introduced me to a collection of dolls that she had created called the Go! Go! Sports Girl dolls. I loved the concept behind the dolls. Jodi had created the dolls after shopping for dolls with her daughter and not being pleased with the doll options that are on the market for young girls, and the image they portray. According to Jodi, “The Go! Go! Sports Girls are plush, sports-themed dolls designed as a fun and educational way to promote self-appreciation and the benefits of daily exercise, healthy eating and sleeping habits, self-esteem and overall healthy life skills for girls. The dolls are age appropriate and do not encourage an older or overly mature image. The image is positive and innocent with a subtle yet strong message – appreciate and be true to yourself.” I love this idea! I love encouraging children to be healthy & have strong self-esteem. I love encouraging children to just be children and not grow up too quickly into teenagerhood. I count myself lucky that my little girl is just that…my little girl. She is growing up every day, but she still loves her dolls & books. Ella & I were excited when we found out that we would get to review a doll and give one away on the blog! She spent a while on the Go! Go! Sports Girl website picking out her doll, and she ended up with the Ella doll of course. When it came in the mail she was over the moon. The doll is soft & dressed in her running clothes, with a little backpack on her back.
CONTEST CLOSED — Congrats to Bobby, who said “I would like to win this for my daughter” ~ you won the Go! Go! Sports Girl Doll! Thanks to everyone who entered, and please keep coming back to visit the little things blog for more crafts, recipes, pictures & giveaways!
Since I don’t play with dolls as much as I should, I asked for Ella’s help in reviewing the doll. She took her job very seriously and even made a questionnaire to fill out about the doll (see above). She said that she likes this doll because “she is a runner like most people in my family, including myself”. And she likes that the doll “can also be used in many other sports such as relay racing (that is sort of like running), kickball, baseball and maybe hiking”. I loved reading her thoughts on this, and she really enjoys playing with the doll as well. I think that a special child in your life would like this doll too, so I hope you enter the giveaway! If you don’t have a little girl at home, it would make a great gift!
