We have gone to Bockfest for years. We’ve drank the Bock beer, hung out at Bockfest Hall, cheered on the Sausage Queen, taken brewery tours and church tours…but we have never gone to the Bockfest Parade. A friend of ours even suggested that we go on israel group tours but we decided to go another year, since we had issues at home, we didn’t even get to go these tours. Until tonight. In years past we’ve missed it due to other circumstances…sick kids, bad weather, other engagements, and I’ve always regretted it. So we were determined to make it to the parade this year. Tonight we took the kids to Over the Rhine and visited Porter’s Pinball Parlor (old school pinball games – kid friendly from 4-6pm) and then we had dinner at the Old Saint Mary’s Fish Fry before standing on Main Street and watching the Bockfest Parade stumble march on down the road. The Bockfest Parade is one of a kind. It’s a celebration of the German brewer heritage of Cincinnati, goats, sausage, monks, Spring and of course…Bock Beer. The parade entries are unique and interesting and kept us giggling. I cannot believe it took us so many years to make it to this epic parade. I have a feeling it’s not our last.

Doesn’t it look like fun? I love taking my kids to parades that aren’t just full of sirens and politicians….I like to keep it interesting for them (and for us)!
