Are you a big fan of burgers? Do you like to try different kinds of meat? If so, you need to stop by Game in Louisville, Kentucky. My sister turned thirty today, and in celebration we took a little road trip to Louisville with our brother and Henry for lunch at Game, a restaurant that serves up a wide variety of burgers that you just don’t find at every burger joint. Game’s menu offers a really unique meat selection for their burgers including bison, kangaroo, duck, wagyu and elk, just to name a few. You can choose one of the gourmet “Chef Recommendation” burgers listed on the menu or you can build your own burger using a list of various meats, cheeses, toppings and sauces. If you aren’t a meat-eater they also offer a couple vegetarian burger options. If your appetite isn’t big enough for a burger, or you want to taste more than one different kind of meat I’d suggest getting a few meatballs to try. There’s also some scrumptious appetizers to choose from, and I hear the S’mores dessert is tasty too.
If you are going to Game, I’d suggest going with a group so you can share food and taste several different items on the menu. We all shared meatballs, bites of our burgers and baskets of fries, which are hand-cut in the restaurant and served with truffle oil or duck fat for a bit of an added cost. The food is served on wood platters and the tables were hand crafted by the owner’s father. The restaurant is small, but has lots of western style charm. The service was wonderful, and the prices were pretty reasonable. And the beer list was quite impressive. Our meal was out of this world, and totally worth the drive to Louisville to try new foods. We all left with full stomachs and happy taste buds.

Game is located at 2295 Lexington Road in Louisville. You can visit their website for their hours, menu and phone number. Just a note, they don’t take reservations and the dining room is not huge, but we went at lunch time and had no problem getting a table.
