Christmas SaengerfestChristmas is a time of family traditions, and there are many opportunities in the Cincinnati area to create memories with my family.  One of our very special traditions is to spend a day downtown taking in the holiday sights and events.  We always end this day with Saengerfest, which is a Christmas choral festival celebrating the German heritage of Cincinnati.  Saengerfest happens in Over The Rhine each December and this year there will be fourteen choirs performing at four different locations.  With so many choirs participating this is a great opportunity to hear many different voices and styles of singing in one evening.  Getting around to each location is easy, just park at Washington Park and take a bus shuttle to the various performances.  Each year we go to Saengerfest the whole family enjoys taking in the different performances and visiting the historic locations in Over the Rhine.  St. Francis is a favorite of the children because there is a nativity scene outside with live animals.  The whole Saengerfest experience feels sacred, beautiful, magical and peaceful all at once.
