Melissa's Southern Cookbook CoverRecently I was given a copy of Melissa’s Southern Cookbook to review, and I have to say I quickly fell in love with this cookbook.  There are so many recipes in this book that not only sound appealing for the whole family, but also appear easy to put together.   I love to have easy recipes to work with!  As soon as I received this cookbook in the mail I did what I do with all cookbooks…read through it from cover to cover making notes of recipes that I must try first.  I have to say that what immediately caught my attention about the cookbook is that the recipes are all written very well, with great descriptions and instructions that left no steps out of the process.  And the recipes are accompanied by some fabulous images, so that if the recipe itself hadn’t piqued your interest the photograph of the dish will certainly entice you to try it out. Melissa's Southern Cookbook Images

I’ve had a chance to try a few recipes out from the cookbook and they were all delicious.  My favorite so far has been the Slow Cooker Braised Pot Roast with Brown Gravy and Veggies.  I’ll be sharing the recipe on the blog soon, but in the mean time you can drool over this picture of it:
