Until recently I did not know how much I love gelato. Thanks to a dear friend giving me a Golden Gelato gift card for Christmas I was introduced to one of the most scrumptious treats I have ever had.
Golden Gelato
There is a gelato shop in Covington called Golden Gelato and these folks really know their stuff. They are invested in making authentic gelato and sorbets with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Not only do they use the freshest of ingredients, but everything they make is made from scratch and they use locally sourced ingredients. They also make sorbets, which are vegan, so there really is something for everyone.
The menu changes from week to week and you never know what kind of goodness you will find when you pop in here for a sweet treat! The flavors rotate with such frequency that I have been able to try something new every time we visit. My favorite flavors are the Stracciatella and the Espresso side by side. I also adore the Hokey Pokey gelato, which is vanilla flavored with bits of toffee. My kids love to go and taste a few samples before deciding on their perfect flavor combination.
Golden Gelato has plenty of street parking and a pay lot across the street. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. It is the perfect place to wrap up a day of fun in Covington or to grab a cool, sweet treat after dinner.
You can also pick up cups of gelato to go and pints and other desserts to carry out. When our family was sick this summer my dad arrived with six cups of a variety of flavors to help our sore throats. It was the perfect medicine.
