I do not consider it the holiday season until we have been to see Cincinnati Shakespeare Company’s Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!). It is one of my most favorite holiday season experiences. This show is HILARIOUS and squeezes all of the holiday madness and magic into one performance with just four actors. This is our sixth year attending this holiday show, and I anticipate that we will be seeing it annually for years to come.
The Cincinnati Shakespeare Company’s theater is such an intimate place to watch a show, and this year we were up close and personal in the front row to view all the hilarity. The script mostly stays the same from year to year, but each year they freshen it up with current topics and jokes. Even though the script is similar each year we still laugh hard from start to finish. They will poke fun at anyone and anything and the show is led by a tipsy Australian Santa Claus. And if you get to the show early you can even sit on her lap and get a selfie in the lobby! Also be sure to show up early to have enjoy a beverage before the show at Bob’s Bar.
I do not want to give too much away about the show, but if you love to laugh, love holiday movies, love holiday traditions and you are just a little bit naughty then you will LOVE this show! Get your tickets now and make it part of your holiday traditions!

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is celebrating the holidays this season by presenting the beloved holiday classic, “Every Christmas Story Ever Told (and Then Some!)” for a limited time on stage December 13- 29, 2019 with discounted ticket prices starting at $30. For the 14th straight year, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is thrilled to offer a full season of holiday cheer in just a little more than 90 minutes with “Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!)” by Michael Carleton, James Fitzgerald, and John K. Alvarez. What begins as another annual production of “A Christmas Carol” soon devolves into a slightly irreverent look at all of our favorite “Beloved Holiday Classics” including It’s a Wonderful Life, Nutcracker, Rudolph, Charlie Brown and more! Three actors (with the help of a tipsy Santa) send up everything from Dickens to Dr. Seuss in 90+ minutes of high octane jollity and frivolity.
CSC Director of Creative Education, Jeremy Dubin, returns to the director’s chair. This production is one of the most popular events in Cincinnati Shakespeare Company history breaking attendance and sales records every year. Director Jeremy Dubin remarks, “This cast has so much fun together that the show has become a very personal holiday tradition for all of us. It’s occasionally a little irreverent but always warm-spirited, and it’s the perfect answer to all your winter woes.”
Please note that “Every Christmas Story Ever Told (and Then Some!)” is most appreciated by adults and older teens, and is not recommended for any theatergoers still young enough to believe in Santa. This is a perfect show to make a date night, for families with older kids and teens, and/or an outing with friends!
