Cincinnati is going back to it’s beer-brewing roots. There seems to be no shortage of micro breweries, craft breweries and home-brewers (my husband included) in the Greater Cincinnati area. We have decided, along with our good friends to make a habit of planning date nights that revolve around local breweries. I decided that if we were going to be checking out breweries I should be blogging about it. But make note…I’m not a beer reviewer, so I probably won’t go further than to say I liked the beer or didn’t like it. I’ll just be sharing a glimpse of our experiences as we visit local breweries.
MadTree Brewing & Catch a Fire Pizza ::
MadTree Brewing is like many of the other breweries we’ve been too in that it is super laid back and casual. It’s an all around great place to just kick back and hang out. It is their beer that makes them stand out, and the fact that there’s an awesome pizza place located within the brewery. I love MadTree’s Happy Amber, Rubus Cacao and Pumpcan beers (those last two are seasonals). And the pizza at Catch a Fire is something to write home about. It was SO good, and their snacks and sides are mouthwateringly delicious too.
MadTree Brewing is family friendly and dog friendly, but can be a bit crowded on the weekends (hence the need for a bigger space!). They have seating both indoors and outdoors, and they host all sorts of events from festivals to tours to tapping parties. Stop by and order yourself a pizza pie, grab a pint of one of their talked about brews and sit for a while and relax. I’m eager to take the kids to MadTree Brewing some afternoon for a game of Catan and a bite to eat. Let’s just hope I remember to take my growler so I can take home one of my favorites. And while you are at MadTree you can do a little shopping….I love their merch selection!
MadTree Brewing is located at 5164 Kennedy Avenue in Cincinnati. Visit the MadTree Brewing website for all the information you need to plan your own visit! I’m late in writing this post, it’s actually been a few months since we’ve visited and now MadTree has plans for an even bigger and better brewery in the near future. So I guess you can expect a MadTree Part II post when that place opens!
