Ever since I had my first helping of Truffle Fries at a restaurant I’ve been in love with all things truffle. Since our budget doesn’t allow for us to eat out every night I bought myself a bottle of White Truffle Oil from The Flying Olive (located at the Friendly Market and at Jungle Jim’s Eastgate). I’ve been trying to find as many ways to use it as I possibly can. Truffle Oil is an oil that has been infused with the flavor of truffles. I can’t quite describe to you what it tastes like, but if you are ever at a restaurant and see Truffle Fries on the menu you should take a chance and try them! Truffle Oil is not cheap, but it goes a very long way when cooking, just a smidgen of oil can add tremendous flavors to many dishes. I also recommend buying some Truffle Salt from Colonel De’s…it’s the same as the oil, a little goes a long way and it brings big flavor to the dish!
