For the second year in a row our family traveled to Sandusky to spend a weekend at Hotel Breakers and Cedar Point while I attended Bloggy Con. I learned more about cultivating my blog and made connections with other fabulous bloggers from around the country and my family got to have a great time riding rides and checking out local restaurants. It’s a perfect combination of work and play. Sandusky is a great area and has a lot to offer in terms of things to do, places to see and food to eat. Outside of my time spent at the conference we spent the majority of our time at Cedar Point. It was such a memorable and fun weekend, and we cannot wait to go back next year!
Let me describe our trip to you using some of the pictures I took along the way!
A Weekend Away in Sandusky:
Cedar Point and Hotel Breakers go all out when it comes to decorating for Halloweekends:
The view from our balcony!
The bedroom of our suite:
The Lake Erie Beach at Hotel Breakers is just gorgeous! We spent so much time at Cedar Point that we really did not spend enough time on the beach. Next year I’d like to plan extra time in Sandusky so we can have more time for the beach!
Tomo Hibachi restaurant in the hotel is such a fun place to eat dinner…the chef keeps us all entertained while cooking up a scrumptious dinner to feed the masses.
You can see the excitement on the kids’ faces all weekend long:
Night-time rides:
Gourds of all shapes and sizes decorate the grounds of Cedar Point:
While Henry shied away from some of the spooky characters at Cedar Point he seemed pretty happy to have his picture taken with the Headless Horseman:
I was a fool and did not have my camera on hand for the sighting of one of the most hauntingly beautiful full moons I’ve ever seen. This picture does not do this spooky moon justice. The moon hung low over Lake Erie amidst clouds and it was so cool and eerie! (see what I did there?)
The kids describe Small City Taphouse as “the place with a thousand beers and the sushi”. They don’t quite have a thousand different beers, but their selection is quite impressive! And their food is out of this world, just ask the boys, they could not get enough of the sushi. This has quickly become a restaurant we just MUST visit every time we are in Sandusky.
Three days wasn’t nearly long enough, but we squeezed fun into every single moment that we could! Until next year…
